My dad taught me the basics of Chess at the age of 7 and at age 15, I became more interested when I joined the Chess Club my sophomore year in high school. Then I began participating in Chess tournaments throughout my high school years. During my senior year I became a recipient of a full ride Chess Scholarship.
With that, I attended the University of Northern Iowa and received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology.
Chess made a beneficial difference in my life, and I know it can do the same for many others. Chess has become a lifelong passion of mine, and I’ve been so fortunate to make it a business. One of the things I appreciate most about Chess, is its discipline and objectivity for finding the right move. I have been blessed to be able to teach chess as a career for eight years and I’m sharing my passion by spreading chess lessons to those who are unable to afford to pay.
My long term vision is to provide free programs with libraries who are able to work with our foundation. In addition, I’d like to donate chess sets and chess programs to underprivileged schools and also provide chess scholarships for boys and girls. I want to help those who like to play chess and expose others to this invigorating game of possibilities that teaches us that hard work pays off and that life lessons are learned on and off the chessboard.
